BLACKBERRY: a magazine aims to be a premier literary magazine featuring African-American women writers and artists*. Its goal is to expose readers to the diversity of the black woman’s experience and strengthen the black female voice in both the mainstream and independent markets.
Blackberry is a dream that is becoming reality. My Kickstarter proposal was accepted and I am in the process of creating the campaign and kicking off my fundraising project. The goal of the campaign is to be able to fund the production of both print and digital editions of Blackberry, as well as a corresponding website. has been funded!!!
I strongly believe that Blackberry is of great value to the art world and to the African-American community. I hope you will join me and be a part of history.
*While Blackberry’s main focus is on black female writers and artists, we will not automatically dismiss work based on ethnic or racial identity. If the magazine and its themes speak to you, please submit!
